Join Our Facebook Group (And Other Great Stuff!)

The rumors that nobody has been saying are true! We do have a ChurchMag Facebook Group for our audience to get together and chat. But I honestly only wrote that to get you to read this article because I want to tell you about the great conversations we are having over there. Sure, join us. Yeah, it’s always fun to have big numbers and blah, blah, marketing goals. But what we want to have dialogue.

We have always thought ChurchMag was unique because we talk about tech stuff, note the faith component, and never leave out the nerdy and geeky stuff. Eric constantly preaches about community, so why not just pull the trigger.

We have actually had the Facebook group for quite awhile but only recently made the clear decision to go ahead with it. (It’s a long conversation, maybe we will do a podcast episode of why we decided to do eventually do a Facebook group after I “man’ed up” to champion the cause and then talk about why we didn’t do a Slack group). But right now we are having some fun conversations over there. We also do not plan to heavily promote this channel, but I figured it would be important at least once to talk about it.

Think of this as the one insider post on this website. If you are a faithful reader, you’ve got the inside scoop. We probably won’t promote it on the website beside the advertisements, in the newsletter, or on the podcast outside of a podcast topic. We’d rather have people who love this channel come talk than a mess of people looking to self-promote or “hack Google search” to get higher in rank.

My personal favorite that I wanted to write about was because Chris Wilson is pushing for several of the ChurchMag crew to take part in the NaNoWriMo challenge so I started a thread over there for people who are taking part to push each other, encourage each other, and openly vent about the process. (Yup, this 387 number of words article is going to go towards my total for today!)

We are actually really excited to have this community open up, it’s yet another layer of the ChurchMag platform. Honestly, I’m just excited I have more people I can push back on!
