Facebook has rolled out a much more robust external commenting system that you can roll on your blog.
The biggest advantages of this is that you can post your comment to Facebook to allow even more comments (and traffic) roll back to your blog.
Of course the most notable flaw in this system is that some people simply don’t want to use Facebook to comment on blogs. Thoughts? Is this something that you’d implement?
Alexandra says
Yes! I’d like to implement this! I’ve actually been looking for something like this. Because I receive a lot of comments from my facebook pages that I’d like to have on my blog also.

It’s a pretty smart move by Facebook. They’re basically making a play to take over IntenseDebate & Disqu’s territory, and they’ll probably do a good job of it because of the opportunity it provides for comments to be automatically shared on the commenter’s wall (and their friends newsfeeds). It would be a lot better if they allowed users to login using Twitter, Google, or OpenID. But at least they give you the option to post a comment as one of your pages instead of your personal Facebook profile if you prefer.

Still thinking. Do I want Facebook to have all my comments or do I want to keep them?
PaulSteinbrueck says
Great question, Jared. I use IntenseDebate on Christian Web Trends, and the comments get stored in both WordPress & ID. I wonder how FB is doing it?
Becky says
I think I’d use a FB comments system on my blog. That’d be great. Is it a plugin?
David Norman says
i love the idea… especially if/when they get it integrated with twitter, but for the life of me, i can’t find in their documentation WHERE to put the code!
consider me in the dark…
Tyler says
It’s one step closer to me implementing it but until they allow other ways to comment within the overarching FB commenting system (twitter username/google/email) it won’t be something that most blogs will be able to use without losing a significant number of commenters and readers.
