Get Some Exposure for Your Photos

Get Some Exposure for Your Photos

February 5, 2015
by James Cooper

You’ve had a fantastic event at your ministry or church (or youth group or whatever!). Lots of wonderful photos were taken, but now you need a really simple and great way of showing them to the world and/or telling your story.

You could add them on your site/blog (but that can be a pain) or great a gallery for them on Facebook (but it’s not exactly pretty is it?). What if there was a super easy way of putting your photos (and videos) together, with some text, to create an awesome looking page to help with get some more ‘exposure’ – well there is!

Exposure

Exposure is a great service that allows you to easily create photo stories and display your photos to their best. With the free package you can create three free stories in an account. There are also paid accounts, starting at $5 a month, where you can have unlimited stories and more custom branding, etc.

Making a photos story with Exposure is amazingly simple, you just drag and drop in to the type of photo block you’d like and then add some text blocks to explain the photos.

The final pages are pretty stunning. Here are a couple of examples from Clemson, my College Football team (Go  Tigers!) 2014 Football Season Highlights (quite video heavy) and Clemson’s Week at the Russell Athletic Bowl (more photos than video). You also get a nice profile front page like http://clemsontigers.exposure.co/

You can then easily share the story on social media as the pages have all the ‘Open Graph’ tags in to keep Facebook and Twitter happy!

So for a great way to get your photos some exposure, check out Exposure!

Browser Bonus!

If you’re a Chrome or Firefox user, there’s a free Exposure browser extension where, every time you open a new tab, you get a different image from Exposure and if you’re interested, you can click through to see the whole story. I’ve been using the extension since it was launched a couple of weeks ago and have found it really interesting and inspiring.
