I hate snakes.
Ever since my Mom took me to see Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark, I’ve hated them.
This video is almost that bad (without the snakes):

why? why would you post such a thing? I honestly don’t have too much of a problem with snakes or spiders, but this video (and the ones that popped up as related afterwords) gave me instant anxiety. i need a prozac or something now…

Shame, the poor spider! I don’t know why people don’t like spiders or snakes, and I don’t know what possesses them to kill these animals, which for the most part are not doing anything to them.
Spiders are quite essential to keeping the “bug” population down. They trap and eat flies and other insects that we regard as pets.
It’s like this vendetta against sharks. Did you know that a number of years ago scientists observed that as people hunted and killed sharks in a certain area, the jellyfish population rose? The sharks’ main food is jellyfish, and when people started killing the main predator there were less and less natural enemies for the jellyfish. It resulted in more swimmers and beach-goers getting stung by the now booming jellyfish population.
If you don’t like the spider in your house, scoop it up in a container and take it outside. Take it down to the nearest park if you don’t want to leave it in your garden. Of the dozens of insects I have put outside over the years, I can count on one hand the number that have come back inside.
Oh, and I have a pet snake. Most placid thing ever. What’s more, he’s far less maintenance than the cats or the dog or the fish.
