Making Exceptional Use of 404 Pages

NOTFOUND.ORG is an amazing tool set up by Missing Children Europe and Child Focus to gain more exposure for missing persons in Europe.

The idea is to combine missing web pages with missing person posters. They do this by letting anyone who has a website embed a simple iframe on their website’s 404 page. One line of code – that’s all it takes!

I’ve already done two of my own sites:

There are more samples here – notfound.org/notfound (refresh the page for new ones).

So – are you going to use it?

This is a much better idea than my “Craigslist 404.” (http://www.trinitydigitalmedia.com/404).

I like the Craigslist 404 idea too.
