No, I didn’t play it. Luca Dye, my little brother, played it. I just asked him questions about it. We assembled the review you are about to read which we do hope that you enjoy. But most importantly for us, we had a lot of fun doing this together.
This is your first ever game review would you like to say anything about that?
This is my first review but I’ve played and enjoyed many a video game, and it feels strange to be writing a review for one.
So let’s start with the title, ‘Dumb Little Creatures‘ is the name, right?
Yep, that’s the name. I think that the title is quite rude to the Little Creatures, but I mean, they are kinda dumb.
What is this game about?
Well, you, like MisMatch Studios says, “Help a group of innocent creatures avoid all deadly hazards and get back home safely.”
The little creatures you’re helping are a group of funny-looking egg-shaped creatures and the deadly hazards you are helping them to avoid are flamethrowers, sawblades, lava, etc. I’ve had many accidents but I don’t like to think of those— it’s an emotional roller coaster.
You guide them through the levels with little commands, and though I haven’t finished it yet it’s really quite enjoyable.
Here’s a trailer:
How is the gameplay?
The game has a very interesting gameplay style which was inspired by a game called Lemmings, which is the same puzzle-platformer.
It’s satisfying until it’s absolutely frustrating, and when you’re frustrated the music seems to taunt you with its calmness. The music plays a gentle tune while the Dumb Little Creatures are burning, being chopped in half, or drowning.
Would adults, teens, and kids enjoy this game?
If you like indie or small puzzle games then you’re sure to enjoy this game, no matter how old you are.
Out of 5 stars, how many stars would you give this game?
I give it 4 out of 5, and I will definitely finish it and maybe even replay it.
You can play Dumb Little Creatures on Windows and Mac. It can be purchased in the Mac App Store or on Steam (if you don’t have a Steam account, you can get one for free, they always have great deals).
[We were provided a copy of this game in exchange for an honest review which is exactly what you just read.]
