Dropbox has finally landed (or dropped…?) for Android and I can here a few shades of applause here and there.
People have obviously been asking for it for a while now (but not me, obviously, with my iPhone…).
But, regardless, Dropbox is the bomb. I couldn’t imagine a world without it now.
Are you using Dropbox for your file needs?
Here’s a better question: Are you using Dropbox on your mobile device? I’ll admit that I have never used it on my iPhone… Am I missing something?
Tom says
I used the mobile version on my Pre but it’s mainly for looking up docs I’ve stored. I don’t do a lot of file management with it.

I don’t use it on my iPhone much, but I have used it share a file that was already in my dropbox with a friend when I was away from my desk.

i use dropbox on my touch… it’s not all that useful, but it’s not bad for offline document reading on the go. I just wished it integrated with google docs now.
Lon says
oh wow, just noticed how you made the word ‘dropbox’ autolink to your referral. neat!
Stephen Bateman says
it’s fantastic for computer, but since I’m still in the dark ages as far as mobile goes, no sé.
Steven Rossi says
I’m a very big fan of DropBox. It’s in the running for my favorite app of all time. I use 2-3 computers on a daily basis, and the old days of emailing documents back and forth every 20 minutes were painful and tedious.
I do use it on my iPhone, in two particular ways. First is on-the-go access to files, mostly for reference purposes. Sometimes I’ll save a quick to-do list in my DropBox folder and grab it while I’m out, etc. Second, I’ve found I can use it for temporary mp3 storage, say of a sermon or lecture I want to listen to once. If I download a sermon from the web, I can toss it into DropBox instead of copying it into iTunes and then having to be sure to delete both the original and the new duplicate. Other times I’ll remote in to my desktop from a computer somewhere else, move an mp3 into my DropBox folder, and have access to it without syncing my phone.
To be fair, I don’t use it for mobile nearly as much as I use it on the computer, but in a pinch it’s a great solution.
