Yeah, iPhone 4 is all the rage today.
As such, Mashable published a pretty slick comparison of Droid X and the iPhone 4…
Personally, I’m really impressed with the Droid X. Competition definitely fosters innovation and I dig seeing what iPhone-competitors are doing to step up their game.
Thoughts?
How many of you are actually reading this on your device now? Or, better yet, which device is it?

PCWorld did a great comparison of just the cameras on a few different phones including iPhone 4 and Droid X:

The results definitely back up the claim that “megapixels aren’t everything”. It makes me weary of charts like this, which is why I think often Apple is reluctant to talk about raw numbers like gigahertz, memory speeds, ram bus, etc.
The Droid X looks sweet but that phone is way too big for my taste. I’d just feel goofy holding something that large beside my head.

I feel the same way. It’s too big just like the EVO. Way to big. Also nothing on that chart, or St least what read had anything to say about the AppStore. A VERY large reason why folks love the iPhone is due to the AppStore.

Yeah but us BlackBerry users have been doing it for years… this makes the transition smoother from BB to Droid…

I’m on a DROID now, and LOVE it! And I’m looking forward to the DROIDx…
I know that the i-folks are pretty die hard, but I know several people who have left iPhone for DROID because they like the functionality and apps better. I’m not trying to bash the iPhone at all, but I haven’t seen anything from it that really impresses me to the point that I would leave my DROID for it…
I do like to see that charts like this show how both sides see the need to step up their game. The competition is good, and DROID fans like myself are about to benefit from Apple realizing that they need to step it up…

I am indeed someone that left the iPhone for a Droid, but that decision had everything to do with At&t and nothing to do with the features of Android. If the iPhone came to Verizon I’d switch back in a heartbeat. That’s not to say I hate the Android OS, there are things I like for example the way they handle notifications, the ability to be signed in to Google Talk all the time, and Google Voice integration. But the iPhone was so much slicker and easier to get around with and the apps are magnitudes ahead of anything in the Android Marketplace right now (not talking quantity either, quality).
Dan King says
I hear ya… And I’ve never been much of i-dude… I’ve just never been THAT impressed. I like my DROID, and don’t have any reason to want to switch.
I have seen some apps in both platforms and agree that initially more attention is paid to quality for the iPhone market, but I’ve been really happy with some cool apps from the Android Market too. In fact, that’s what made some of the people I know want to switch… the fact that there were some cool apps for andriod that they couldn’t get for iPhone (probably coupled with some AT&T issues).
I appreciate the response to my comment! Thanks Tim, you rock!

I saw this on Mashable last week! I am so getting the DroidX on July 15th! I’ll be waiting in line and drinking my Starbucks (my Starbucks is next door to my Verizon store) 🙂
