It is staggering for me to believe that GoDaddy has nearly 36% of the market and the 2nd place org has not even 5%.
That is some serious “domination.”
Does your ministry/church use any of these?

I have been using Advanced Ministry.com the last two years. I love it! I hate hearing stories of churches using Go Daddy.com as their server. Honestly, the fact they have been using sex to sell themselves is reason enough to NOT use them. The more I invest with web hosts, the more I want to use christian services only because they typically are well aware of the needs and have a great understanding of the church.

I guess that’s what purchasing a Super Bowl commercial gets you. Yet again showing marketing is one of the strongest indicators of success rather than feature set. 😉

I started using Lunarpages over 6 years ago for a church site, and now I have quite a few accounts for other sites (and still have the church site with them). I’ve never had a site go down for more than a few minutes, and that’s only every few months. Support is excellent for those few times I’ve needed to contact them.
My belief is a hosting company’s website is an indicator of their service, and with the speed GoDaddy’s site loads I’d never willingly use their hosting. I do have domains registered through them, for now.

Our church doesn’t use any of those. We recently switched from readyhosting.com to canaca.com. Not happy with either. Seriously considering moving again. Maybe to Media Temple…heard some good things about them…

Interesting.
We switched from the market leader (godaddy) to the last on the list, bluehost. Go Daddy was better with uptime, however, their adds plus their poor technical support lead us to change hosts.

Does anyone else have a problem with godaddy’s advertising? It has prevented me from even considering them as an option.

Yes. I use BlueHost and like their service and features.

We use Network Solutions and I highly recommend them. I am actually surprised that they are not #2. Their support is by far superior to GoDaddy ( I have several accounts with GD), and their offerings for the money is not too bad either. One down side to using a big name host is they get hacked more. We recently were hacked but NS had us back and restored from a backup within an hour.

vietchristian.com is hosted on hostgator.com dedicated server. I’ve used 1and1.com and bluehost.com for shared hosting.

I’ve had great experience with 1and1 virtual private servers. LOVE LOVE LOVE MediaTemple.
