Think Vitamin has compared 37signals’ office with that of Zappos and planted firmly their belief that Zappos is better.
I’d love to hear your thoughts from the community here!
I posted a while back on the images from 37signals office and I really liked it but I do understand Ryan’s perspective on freedom of the individual.

37signals’ office is certainly more beautiful, but I couldn’t work there. I would feel every day like I was going to get fired for not keeping my desk clean enough. That alone would add lots of stress for me. Zappos looks like a better place to work.
37signals’ office was designed with the customer in mind. Zappos’ was designed with the employees in mind. For an internet company with very few customers walking in the door, I think Zappos’ approach might be better.
Minor gripe: Why do I have to do a Google search to read the original article? 🙂

I personally love the look of 37s. But I have to admit, Zappos looks much more festive. I’m just not sure I’d ever get anything done, I’d be going back to the pinata for more candy all the time…

I love the neat appeal of 37s, but it’s too barren and empty. Zappos on the other hand, reminds me of a preschool and leaves me amazed that anything can get done with all that distraction everywhere.

This looks like a badly done VBS program.

I wonder: At Zappos, do you get reprimanded if you don’t have 15 pieces of flair at your desk?
