I don’t know about you but I spent a lot of my time in my inbox. It can get quite depressing.
As a result I’m willing to try nearly anything to make life more simple, or at least make email a bit more manageable.
Enter Syhpir, one possible email solution, and with their “Smartpush” technology, it might just do it.
Essentially it helps create filters for your GMAIL account so you can stay organized and save time.
I like. Take it for a test drive and let me know what you think.
How do you guys manage your email beyond just the normal inbox? Do you have a system, app, or methodology?
Please share.

Nice. I took a day and built my Gmail filters to do this already. This would have been helpful though.

I have a whole mess of Gmail filters, too. I’m rarely overwhelmed in my inbox, but each label has an associated priority with it (nothing explicit, I know what is important and what can wait) that I use to tackle my Email in the order I want.
I think one of the more controversial things I’ve ever done is “educate” friends/family on what NOT to send me (lame chain letters, etc), which cuts down on a lot of email. 🙂

Yeah… friends and family like to send those chain letters around don’t they? … been getting a lot of those recently too. Don’t get me wrong… some are funny. And I usually save them for later.

And when you’ve been around the internets as long as I have you get to see these delightful things several times more than you want.
These days they all get binned on first site of multiple lines starting with > or a long list of email addressess!

I use Thunderbird for filters and different inboxes. I like it, but not the biggest fan in the world. Better than Mail at least.
Graham says
I’ve built a bunch of Gmail filters… the ones that get the biggest workout are the facebook and twitter filters. I don’t have time to read all those facebook comment emails. They just go to a label and I delete them occasionally. 🙂
