Bullying is an epidemic in the American school system and unfortunately has impacted millions of teenagers. With the incorporation of the Internet, social media, and online gaming, bullying has severely taken to a whole new form: cyberbullying.
Now, venomous words are being spewed from and to teenagers about everything from their sexual orientation (whether true or not) to just hateful words. Of course, this is not a scenario just limited to teens, but we have seen many instances with professional athletes receiving real death threats and hate messages after losing big games.
Below is an infographic
- 1 in 10 report being bullied on the site
- 1 in 5 cyberbullied teens thinks about suicide and 1 in ten of those attempt it.
- 90% of teens have seen cyberbullying… and only 40% of victims will tell their parents.
