Social media for your ministry or blog seems like an easy thing to do… until you try it for several months and end up not getting the click-throughs or engagement that you expected. It’s a long game play. It requires intentionality. It means stop comparing yourself to others. It expects a game plan.
The infographic below is not a list of hacks. That’s short term without a target. It does assume that engagement plays into your strategy, so you need to define if that is part of what you want. And it will require effort and maybe even some money. Be prepared to challenge yourself and your team.
Here are three great stats and tips for connecting better with your audience.
- Email is a unique way of communicating. The infographic expects you to find an optimal posting time, but if you use something like MailChimp that has a feature to identify the receiver’s timezone and delay the release until then, it may be better to say optimal receiving time. It for a time that the person will be at their inbox to open the email.
- Understand your audience. The infographic gives you overall stats on ALL users on each social media platform, but you don’t have all users following you. You have analytics, what do they say? Are you formatting your content to maximize impact with that audience?
- I love that this infographic not only addresses that email is not dead, SEO is expected, and mobility is needed for your content, but that credibility of your brand has to be present. Whether they see your content in their Facebook Feed or go directly to your website, realize you are building a brand that develops overtime. It’s not a one-hit win but a foundation to create and build off of.
