Cloversites, which provides websites for churches, has announced the release of a basic analytics and metrics application that runs through their system.
This is a nice addition considering that there wasn’t much reporting previously. You will now be able to view your websites traffic for the past 3 months (and variations) as well as media player usage within the site.
Check out their announce video after the jump:

For those that are already signed up you’ll see this addition immediately.
Thoughts?

I’m happy this feature is here! Logged in today to check it out. I plan on emailing screen shots of our traffic stats to the rest of the communications team weekly. Just so we can start to be aware of our trends. I’ll be working up a spreadsheet of recent changes to the site and will be able to reference the traffic spikes with the changes!
John Saddington says
sweet! let us know what you think.

Hey John,
Doesn’t Clover use very Flash based sites? What are your thoughts on a Flash site, and the downsides of them, compared with other types? For instance, if they are tracking analytics, and there are no unique URL’s or pages, how do they know what people are looking at, and for how long?
John Saddington says
not sure how that works specifically.
you can google around this website (in the search) as we’ve covered clover before and you can see some of the communities thoughts about it.
yes, they use flash but i’m not dogmatic about one particular way to execute on a website. i’m glad we have options.
Nathan Artt says
ok, that’s great. And by the way, I am new to your site, but I absolutely love it! You’ve really done an incredible job building a community, and providing very relevant information. I’ve already learned a ton just from a few days of browsing around
John Saddington says
nathan,
thanks! this is a very neat and growing community… glad for you to join us!
