As far as the modern web is concerned, you’re hard pressed to find very many sites that look to engage some form of user interaction – either via comments, retweets, shares, and whatever else.
With the advent of blogs, communities, and other similar sites, it’s becoming much more common to build applications that allow users to perform rich text editing within the browser.
CLEditor is a solid approach for doing just that.
Available as a jQuery plugin, CLEditor is a cross-browser WYSIWYG HTML editor.
It includes all the features you’d expect from a simple editor – font selection, manipulation, and highlighting – but it also supports images, horizontals, and hyperlinks.
The developers have done a killer job with browser compatibility, too. It’s supported in IE6 and up, Firefox 1.5 and up, Chrome 5 and up, and Opera 10 and up.
