How fast is your church, ministry, or nonprofit website?
I know what many of you are thinking:
“Does it really matter? Isn’t it more important we save on hosting?”
It’s great that so many organizations want to save money on website hosting and web design, but the truth of the matter is, you’re losing a lot more than you’re saving.
Again, we see a business-centric infographic that can just as easily be applied to nonprofits. Take a look and you’ll see what I the kind of impact website speed has:
As you can see, website speed is a mix of web design and web hosting. More importantly, I hope you can see the importance of speed. Just as it’s important that your website is mobile friendly, it’s important you’re doing all you can to maximize your speed.
Don’t get me wrong, that doesn’t mean you just need a web hosting service upgrade. As listed in the infographic above, there are a lot steps you can take before moving hosts.
- Are you optimizing your images?
- Are you using a CDN?
- What about a caching?
And if your website isn’t responsive – don’t get me started!
Having a website that doesn’t provide a good mobile experience or loads slowly, is more wasteful and provides more of a disservice than not having a website at all.
How does your church, ministry, or nonprofit website fare?
