Church Tech Snack Pack #226

From ‘Ghost Apples’ to Emojis showing up in court cases, this Snack Pack has got a little bit of everything and I hope it has a little bit of something that you enjoy.

Extreme Temperatures Breed Glassy Hollow Forms Called ‘Ghost Apples’ which are a cool side-effect of the weather we’ve had this winter.

Our Era Of Fanaticism; We’re All Trolls is a thought-provoking read by our very own Blessing Mpofu.

Freshly Cut Flowers Make Sparks in Electrically Charged Images and I may need to figure out how to get them to be my new desktop pictures.

When I read this title: Emoji are showing up in court cases exponentially, and courts aren’t prepared. I laughed. But it’s actually becoming more and more of an issue, something more serious than whether it’s a chocolate ice cream emoji or a poop emoji.

The Japanese words for “poo” and “luck” sound similar, so in Japan the 💩 emoji is a common good luck message to send before a job interview or exam.

Speaking of the poop emoji.

Things are never, "just funny" or "just a meme". There is always a reason something is appealing. It's up to you whether you want to examine that.

If other people criticize it, saying "it's just a meme" will (and should) be interpreted as, "I choose not to think about this."

Think about this.

Can someone who has seen this recently tell me if it's just an on-set production still or did it actually happen in the movie? #ShortTermMemoryLoss pic.twitter.com/HKEqTZv0Ew

Mark Hamill doesn’t take himself too seriously.

God's betting that we'll have the guts to be who He made us to be, rather than acting like someone He doesn't know.

Truth.

Mine is more like:

me: 🙂

houseplant: 🌱

me: 🙂

houseplant: 🍂

me: ?

houseplant: 💀

me: :(((

— Sonja (@infiniterain) February 19, 2019

I kill off my houseplants too. I don’t know why.

🍃: please remember to take a moment to look up from your screen

— here's your reminder (@tinycarebot) February 18, 2019

Now stop staring at your screen and go look at the sky, your eyes will love it.

Do you have a link that you would like for me to include in a future Church Tech Snack Pack? Send it to me!
