It’s that time again.
It’s almost Christmas and you’re still searching for that awesome gift for the creative in your life. Whether it’s your spouse, sibling, family member, or friend, you’re still wondering what in the world you can possibly give them.
Well the lists below should give you more than enough options so you can give that creative in your life something special.
1. Pocket Sized Notes
I’m noticing more and more that drawing and writing stuff down is such a crucial part of the creative process. And the three that I listed below are some of the best out there currently.
- #notes – 8bit’s very own iteration of creative inspiration on paper. It’s minimalisticly beautiful with its size being that of an iPhone, so it fits nicely in any pocket.
- Field Notes – It’s catching on as the designer notepad from what I can tell by tweets and blog posts.
- Moleskine – A classic you can never go wrong with and with so many options, it’s hard not to find what you’re looking for.
2. Think Geek
Really anything from Think Geek is sufficient I feel. If you know anything about your creative then you’ll be able to find something that caters to their interest. But in case you don’t the 3 below should work well for anyone.
- Donkey Kong Jenga – The above picture says it all. This game will surely help bring some much-needed breaks to your creatives life.
- Star Wars Bookends – What creative doesn’t love Star Wars. Replace those old bookends for something more classy.
- Origami Sticky Notes – Got your attention? If the pocket-sized notes didn’t quite feel right, these origami sticky notes will surely be fun and creative enough for your creative.
3. Mugs
Who doesn’t love a good mug? I personally drink out of mason jars but I wish someone would get me one of the below mugs so I can drink out of them in the morning.
- Face Mug – Not only is it this a cool mug, but it holds cookies, doughnuts, etc in its mouth for you.
- The Tank Up Coffee Mug – This mug let’s you know when you’re empty and need to fill up.
- My Cuppa Coffee – Who knows how to mix the perfect cup of coffee? This cup apparently does with its color matching guide on the inside. So creative.
4. Speakers
When I’m away from my computer, whether it’s to read or just hanging out talking, getting something to play my music in is always a fun adventure. I’ve used cups and bowls alike and I’m sure most creatives have either tried this for fun or use it regularly. The below options are a tad better and more creative for sure.
- Forest Bamboo USB Portable Speaker – It’s small enough to fit in fun little spaces and able to project any type of music you need to roll out.
- Mini Koo Non-Electric Speaker – No plug-in required. It’s crafted from walnut wood, which gives your music a beautiful sound.
- Recycled Speakers – I love minimalism and these speakers give that.
5. Gift Cards
If you think the above just doesn’t quite do it for the creative in your life, then by all means, go classic and give them a gift certificate or gift card somewhere. Now, you can always give them the standard iTunes gift card; and you wouldn’t go wrong doing that by any stretch; because with iTunes there are a plethora amount of ways to spend said gift card.
With that though, if you want to be creative in your efforts to impress the creative you’re getting the gift for, then consider the below as alternative gift card suggestions:
- MyFonts Gift Certificate – If you’re creative is a designer then giving them soem money towards buying fonts will be right up their alley.
- Johnny Cupcakes Gift Card – As a creative, I enjoy shirts by the Ugmonks and Johnny Cupcakes of the world. I’m sure your’s will too.
- Urban Outfitters Gift Card – You can never go wrong with a gift card from Urban Outfitters. There’s so much swaggy gifts to grab from.
Bonus: The Supaby Portable Game Console
If the creative you’re getting a gift for has any creative bone in their body then more than likely this will surely tickle their fancy.
Matter fact, let’s forget creatives for a second and mention this; who didn’t love the Super Nintendo back in the day. Few and far between for sure. So being able to conjure up some old school memories/nostalgia for your creative will quite possibly be the best gift you can give.
So which gift from the above would you consider getting, I mean, giving?
