I have a secret.
Well, I say it’s a secret, but perhaps it’s not so secret.
I have a moral dilema!
I hate having moral dilemas.
The dilemma is this:
Should I make my phone wear a case or not?
The struggle, I suppose, is this:
Phones look.
What do I do!?!

I have an iPhone. I used to have the 4 but I have a 3GS now, long story.
Anyway, all iPhones, and even some of the android phones are just to dang pretty to put something over it.
As a guy I see no reason as to put a case on it as it fits in my pocket, stays in my pocket so it’s safe.

I tried. Until I droped my 3GS for the first time. Case it is. Incase is the best way to go if you want something cheap and light.

I have extra warranty for my iphone. That means that if i crack it, scratch it , whatever it, they will replace mine.
Second of all, i hate cases. I live in Romania. In mid ’90s everybody who had a TV with remote, were protecting the remote by putting in a thing transparent bag or foil. I feel that cases and screen covers are the thing as the bag or the foil. For me, to replace the back of my iphone would cost me around 20$. After 1 year, 20$ is not much. After 1-2 year, the next gen iphone would come out and i will have to get another one.
Sure thing, if i want to sell my previous iphone it must look good. But in that case, i could swap the back and maybe the front. let’s say 50$. How much would that help me to increase the price? i don’t know. Is it worth it? i don’t think so.
The thing is. You take an expensive object, state of the art, and then you put it inside a 10-50$ case… to hide the beauty of it… for me, is not worth it.
And.. as a side note… why should i worry about what might happen with the phone? i should focus more on making more money to afford the newer model or to replace the scratched parts, not to be afraid of whatever bad stuff happends with the phone.

I can’t. If you use a case, the desktop dock and car dock don’t work. The way around is to put it in and out of it’s case all day long, but that’s obviously not a decent solution.
No case!

I have a 3GS. Never had a case on it. Dropped it only a couple of times, but nothing bad happened. There is a crack in the back plastic. But nothing major at all. Unless it keeps me from selling it for much when the next phone comes out.
Douglas Porter says
I always use a case. Dropping it’s not worth it. Also, the iPhone 4 is glass one both sides to it slides around way to much. On your lap in the car or couch, trying to hold onto it when your hands are dry, setting it on anything not perfectly flat. I vote case! I agree, Incase is great. I prefer flexible rubber type cases or two piece slide on with a grippy coating.
Taylor Anderson says
Keep it naked. I lived in fear too long and i have been set free. The iPhone is meant to be nude. Especially the 4. Enjoy it the way it was meant for. And if you shatter it,, take it to the apple store and get it replaced. I have had 5 friends who tried that and it worked, no $$ out of their pocket.
Brian Alexander says
I totally agree, but I feel like the 3GS is not as pretty so it’s meant to be covered.
