Today can be a very controversial day. Some Christians ignore Halloween, some participate, while others find alternatives.
What will you be doing, today?
Passing out candy?
Passing out tracts?
Staying home with the doors locked and the porch light off?
I’m loving this costume either way:

Not opening the door tonight — otherwise its participating in Halloween activities — not a good thing…:-)

Thanks for sharing Andrea!
Chris S. says
I think you mean “tracts” not “tracks.”
Anyway, I’m going out to dinner to celebrate my father-in-law’s birthday π
Eric Dye says
Indeed, that is what I would mean π
Thanks, Chris!
Charles Specht says
Love the costume. Makes for walking door-to-door slightly difficult, however.
Eric Dye says
Indeed, it would. Indeed, it would. π
Russ says
Yeah, the nerd in me cringed at “track” – it’s TRACT!

We’ll be gathering with close friends to hang out and hand out candy to the neighborhood kids. No ulterior motives, really!
Eric Dye says
You’re not the only one. I don’t think spelling correctly is nerdy at all!
Cool motives π

Im in Australia so no idea why Halloween is here but it is so i gave out candy and luke’s gospel. I rekon if we don’t engage with people and tell them what we really think then they can only think two things. 1 we don’t care them or 2 we totally agree with them. No opening the door and doing nothing can be just as saying that its ok. So yer we don’t believe in Halloween but you totally got gives kids candy and Jesus just because we love em.
Peace.

Great thoughts, Josh. Thanks for sharing!

I passed out candy, and I’m not sure how I feel about passing out tracts. If I were a kid receiving one, I don’t know how I would feel about it. Do people feel judged when they receive tracts? Do they feel like they are being told they are going to hell because they are celebrating “satan’s holiday”? People I know that have received tracts at Halloween honestly just laugh and toss them without giving them a second thought. Wouldn’t a better outreach be showing our neighbors we care by helping out an elderly person with yard work or offering to babysit for a single mom in the neighborhood, etc? I’m not judging one way or another; just trying to put myself in “their” shoes.
Eric Dye says
True. We always need to think about how our actions are interpreted.
Paul Clifford says
When I was growing up, my mother always felt guilty about Halloween. One year we passed out candy and tracts to the kids and just tracts to the teens that show up without costumes at the end of the night.
I wish the Church (and Christians) could be known for what we’re for (people) and not what we’re against (a day that most people think is just a fun time to dress your cute kids in costumes).
