For all of you bloggers out there, what is your goal?
Some might say to simply write the best content available to people. Others, a little more honest and decidedly greedy may say traffic so that they can get more sponsors. Yet, others would say that the long-term goal is to find the highest point of engagement in your site.
Engagement from your users not only increases the traffic you would get, it provides the feedback of the quality of content, as well as improves brand loyalty for readers if properly engaged.
My suggestion for you is that your goal should be high user engagement and here are some tips on how to improve that.
Here are a few highlights from the infographic below:
- 80% of people will read your title, but only 20% will read the whole post. 50% of your emphasis should be on headline quality.
- Use social media to drive traffic to your blog. Sharing content on it will engage them with the brand.
- Subscriber accounts (RSS and email combinations) as well as guest blogging increase engagement possibilities.
