Blogging is something that people do as a hobby, for business, for fun, or to set up a platform for their ministry. Becoming a blogger with half a million readers and enough advertising or speaking engagements takes a bit more time, but that is for the select few. But to have the ability to take a concept from an intangible idea and put it onto a blog post in and of itself is not a difficult task to do.
Dustin Stout took a concept from 8bit to have a blogging challenge that would be a task that everyone who took part would say are humbled. Of course, to simply do the challenge is one thing, to record the pre and post-process takes it to another level. Here is our experience.

The Details
This was not a free-for-all event, we did have a pretty specific set of guidelines to complete this task.
- Write four blog post articles with a working title and the content of the body nearly completed.
- Each blog post had to be a minimum of 300-500 words
- You must include an image into the post.
- You have 60 minutes to complete this task.
- You do not have to finalize the SEO or grammar of the text, though it must be a complete thought.

How It Ended
This was definitely a unique experience and something that all of the people who participated would say was not an easy task. Here are some of the reactions.
- “I did not have enough time.” They truly started from scratch without ideas and so that process of writing took a little longer.
- “I knew what I wanted to right but could not find an image.” The need to have an image in the process meant we had to use up precious time.
- “Life happened.” We were interrupted, web browsers crashed, and writer’s block came up. It’s a blogging life.
- “Mine is really two parts.” Sometimes writing needs to be broken up into several posts instead of a too-long how-to.
If you want to be part of the next challenge, Dustin is hoping to have one of these on the first Saturday of every month, so join in!
