When I was a teenager I used to change my desktop wallpaper every couple of days or so, (and fill up a ridiculous amount of hard drive space as a result), but now I tend to stick to one design for about 6 months or so, till I get a prompt to change thanks to some seasonal event.
Well, this little web app made me break that newer trend. It’s a way to quickly create stylish a map wallpaper.
Sure you could take a screenshot on Google Maps (and I’m sure this service does use the Google Map APIs), but it wouldn’t look half as good as this:
The interface is really simple, you type in a location (I choose Krakow where I live), select your phone screen size (the iPhone SE for me) and a color option such as black, dark grey, light grey or a copper effect.
I chose a black background and zoomed in a little bit to make the old town take up more of the center of the screen, but I still had enough space for my flat to make it into the image.
Of course, you don’t have to limit yourself to your actual address. You could choose a place with a significance to you.
Give it a go!
And let us know what wallpaper you make.
