In case you’re new here, allow me to let you in on a little secret:
I have a problem with notebooks.
Seriously, I’m sitting in my office at church right now, and I have forty brand new, unused notebooks. The sickest part is that I’m not done yet, people. I’m always looking for more. Whether I’m a bookstore or a Super Wal-Mart, I’m always on the lookout for a sweet, sweet notebook.
So imagine my delight when I was alerted to a new notebook on Kickstarter:
Looks awesome, huh?
The BASICS Notebook—It Looks Pretty Advanced to Me!
Do you need a paper calendar? How about lined paper for lists, journaling, taking notes, or drafting your writing? Would you also like some blank paper for sketching ideas or doodling? Ok, so that’s three “yes’s” in a row, but how about this: white board paper? Would you like to have the luxury of writing on a mobile white board for the roughest of drafts that can be erased and started over? Given that you’ve said “yes”
The BASICS Notebook offers weekly and monthly calendars, lined paper, blank paper, and a back pocket which contains white board paper—what else could want?
Built-in ribbon bookmarks with two elastic straps? Boom! You go it! The BASICS Notebook has the typical elastic strap to keep your notebook closed, but there’s a second, internal strap to help keep pages on the left side from getting in your way, even though the notebook is already designed to lay flat. On top of this, there are three notebooks to mark your place across the three sections—6-month planner, lined paper, blank paper—so that you won’t be constantly flipping around to find your place, which is one of my pet peeves.
I’m personally not a huge user of paper calendars, but the BASICS Notebook offers so much more that I’m really excited! The three sections, the straps and ribbons, the white board paper—all great, but the printed layout of the insides is pretty sweet too! (And you can actually take a peek inside for free!)
But that’s not all! The BASICS Notebook is currently on Kickstarter, and they are offering some pretty sweet deals right now. For just $1 you can get a PDF of the monthly and weekly layouts. For $27 you can get one notebook (black or mint colored cover) and the PDF download. For $49 you can get two notebooks (a year’s worth) along with the PDF download, and the rewards escalate from there. In fact, if you back their Kickstarter (which has been overwhelmingly funded!) you will receive 20% off of any and all future purchases of the notebook in the future. That is a pretty sweet deal.
Here’s a few images to give you idea of just how awesome this notebook is.
You can find out more about the BASICS Notebook from their Kickstarter page until August 29.

I have a notebook problem as well. So much so that I ended up working for one of my favorite notebook manufacturer 🙂
