Wow, the backup solutions available for WordPress keep getting better and better!
Here’s another one called WP Time Machine, which gives you the ability to backup your WordPress blog or site via Dropbox, Amazon S3, or straight off-site FTP.
Choose your solution and then roll with it!
We use VaultPress for all of our backup solutions (it’s a paid service) and feel great about it, but for those that need a free option then this might just do the trick.

Nice.
I might be able to go from two plugins, down to one.
I’ll be giving this a spin …
FTW!

awesome – I just set this up… it works like a charm – I also set up the cron pretty easily, but I had to go into my site’s control panel to do it.

Do you know what we’re supposed to put for the login info? It didn’t have an area where we select if we’re using drop box or amazon s3.

Scratch that…I found it.

John,
Wondering if you’ve heard of idrive.com
http://www.idrive.com/wordpress.htm (not an affiliate link)
They have a free plugin that connects to an online 2gig free account. I’ve tried several different plugins and options in the past and haven’t been able to get any of them to work. This one has finally worked for me. You can have it do daily options and email you the report. It couldn’t be any easier, I think. Once you install the plugin it prompts you to: either open a new idrive account, or enter in your user name and password for idrive. After that you set up the frequency and hit backup. It supposedlt backups your the main files and database. Would love to hear your thoughts on this.
So far, i’m really diggin it. I think it’s the first time I’m completely backed up my blog *whew*

I use: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wp-db-backup/ and email backup of the db to a spare gmail account. Granted it doesn’t do plugins & themes but it’s simple and it works!

We’ve set up http://mybackupbox.com since wpTimeMachine has a ton of “gotchas”, like requiring PHP 4, and certain extensions. We let you sync anything from an FTP server to a Dropbox account.
