It’s that time again.
This is our weekly Q and A session with the 8BIT Team. You can ask us anything and one of us will hook you up with an answer in the coming week.
Simple, right? Oh, and did we answer your question from last week? Let us know.

PhillipGibb says
how do you guys take your coffee?
Kyle Reed says
Don’t even get them started on this.
I am sure the answer will be “However Kyle gets it to us.
I am pretty sure John is an Americano type guy.
Tom likes Folgers.
Jared, don’t know
Dewde, he doesn’t need Coffee, he is a machine.
John Saddington says
haha. heart kyle.
Tom says
Hilarious.
For the most part, I’m brand indifferent. Cream and sugar goes in whatever I get, though.
PhillipGibb says
🙂

Tom says
Haha, Kyle are you taking notes..?
Jared Erickson says

John Saddington says
cream and sugar.
Daniel Mosley says
I’ve said it before, but thanks again for all you guys are doing. On to my question, which has to do with comment customization in WordPress.
I LOVE how the author’s comments are earmarked on 8Bit. This helps readers quickly recognize the author’s feedback. How can I implement something like this on my own blog, as well as my church’s? I’ve found a WP plugin that changes the background color of the author’s comments, but that’s nowhere near as tasteful as what you guys are doing here.
Any chance you could share how to do something like this?
John Saddington says
You can actually copy this from our CSS:
/* Special Badges for Admin and Author Comments */
.author-comment-badge{
display: none;
float: right;
margin-right: -28px;
display: block;
width: 85px;
height: 35px;
}
.comment-author-admin > div > .author-comment-badge{
background: url(“images/admin-comment.png”) no-repeat top left;
}
.bypostauthor > div > .author-comment-badge{
background: url(“images/author-comment.png”) no-repeat top left;
}
Kyle Reed says
Where do you paste that and will that work with Disqus?
Daniel Mosley says
Phew… I’m not the only ignorant one here 😉
Ditto what Kyle is asking. Where? And does it work w/ Disqus or Intense Debate?

Andrew Mason says
Favorite movies when you were growing up?
I’ll go first…..Hook, Dick Tracy, & Who Framed Roger Rabbit?
Tom says
As a kid, I dug The Lion King, Peter Pan, The Neverending Story, and Land Before Time (before they made 736 of them).
John Saddington says
hahaha.
Jared Erickson says
with you on The neverending story! just watched it again the other day.. Goonies was another fav
John Saddington says
hmm. good question.
danielcberman says
What has been the easiest to use photo sideshow plugin that you guys have found? Something I can use multiple times on a wordpress page, with the ability to add and subtract photos from each gallery as needed.
Jared Erickson says
I still have not come across the “perfect” gallery/slideshow plugin for WordPress. Nextgen is great.. but bloated.. some of the others are buggy or don’t offer everything..
danielcberman says
Thanks for the comment. I went with nextgen, but I will keep my eyes and ears open for anything better.
Tyler says
No churchcrunch posts for all of monday, weird…
John Saddington says
… 🙂 today is a big post…..
Rodlie Ortiz says
You know what would be awesome? If there was a way to search through the whole 8bit network for a particular post. I’m planning a Facebook Ad campaign and wasn’t sure if there was an easy way to search through all of them without having to do individual searches on each one.
John Saddington says
that’s a great suggestion!!!!!!!!!!!!
i’ve thought about that… what if we implemented a site-wide search…? Hmm……
