Several of the ChurchMag contributors are founders, hosters, and website developers for multiple website projects and recently we had a heavy discussion of what it means to have a good host. Some of the websites would incur heavy downtime, terrible bandwidth speeds, or database failures and need to navigate through customer service, different upgrades to web hosting plans, or change web hosts all together. This had me thinking what it means to be a great or terrible web hosting company.
Here are three details from the infographic to answer that very question of what it takes to be a terrible web host:
- An estimated 630+ million websites were CREATED in 2012.
- Customer support might not mean anythign more than a forum to help you.
- 40% of Internet users will abandon a web page that takes more than 3 seconds to load.
