I envy all of you who have access to Amazon and Netflix. While I can order from Amazon in Italy and the UK, their video services — as well as Netflix — is not available here. Having an online streaming video subscription for the latest movies and television shows on demand, from any device, is pretty cool. No wonder cable companies are trying to stack the odds in their favor with Net Neutrality, FCC monkey business!
If I could subscribe, however, I would have a hard time deciding.
Here’s a comparison between the two: Amazon vs Netflix:

I have both. I prefer Netflix, it has the shows I watch. But I also have Amazon because I am able to rent new and old releases not found on Netflix. Plus I get a discount on shipping for the other items I buy on Amazon.

Don’t have a favorite between them. We have the (digital) big 3 at our house (Netflix, Amazon Prime & Hulu Plus) but I will say…with the HBO programming now included on Amazon Prime starting today – AP has become my #1 go-to! (until House of Cards returns, that is)
Adam Shields says
Amazon, because I already have Amazon Prime. But if I didn’t have Amazon Prime for other reasons, I am not sure I would pay for it. Probably don’t use it more than once a month.

Hey Eric,
I also live overseas but have access to amazon and netflix. I actually don’t use them anymore, but found them worth the cost. You could either get a VPN with termination point in the US (they have commercially available vpns online for pretty cheap) or even use a browser extension (computer only) called Hola!
This should give access to region blocked content. Enjoy!
Eric Dye says
It’s so foolish that they block the content, but it can be easily worked around. Grrr. I’ve thought about the VPN route, before. Do you have any VPN recommendations?
