And now it is the morning after one of your biggest services of the entire year. Easter is over! You made it. Regardless of how it met your expectations or not, the reality is that Christ was proclaimed and many people got to hear about the awesome power of our living savior, Jesus Christ. Some of these people may have heard about Christ for the very first time. So Easter was great and it is time to celebrate.
However, it is not a time to relax. In fact, now is the time to capitalize on Easter. People came to your services and many were probably touched by Christ in some way.
So how can you ensure that they come back for more? What can you do?
1) Pray.
For starters, you can pray. I know this sounds like the standard “Christian” answer, but the reality is you need God to continue to stir in the hearts of people who came on Easter. There is nothing you can do right now that can invoke the kind of response that the stirring of the holy spirit can. So pray early and often for those who came to Easter.
2) Keep reaching out.
Another idea is to continue to seek ways to bring people back into the Church to hear about Christ. Many years ago the Church used to be the place where the community would meet to play bingo, have town meetings, or even have community carnivals. Now, it is often a place where people just show up on Sundays. But Christ is not just about Sunday. He is about our every day lives. So keep looking for ways to bring the community back in. Whether it’s a fun game night on Wednesday for your students or gamers, or a potluck on Saturday or an Open Mic night, there are plenty of opportunities out there to draw people back in and closer to Christ. Use Easter as a way to mobilize your church to be apart of their communities and draw people in.

One is some social media images you can use now that Easter is over for follow up (here). And the other is a podcast episode we did a while back brainstorming ideas churches can do (and here).
These are just a few ideas and resources we have from ChurchMag, but we know that you all have some great ideas as well.
