I’m going to warn you, the video that follows has terrible words that I personally would never say, write, or entertain. The dark side of the web that all of us know exists, Ashley Judd exposes in this TEDTalk.
I’ll be honest, if you are repulsed by the first minute of the video, help us find reform for the internet. I wonder as a Christian in a digital space, what should be our roll when we see abuse online?
My own personal thoughts are if this was in person, I’d call it out, note that it is a sin and inappropriate, and stay in the situation until the offender quits and the victim feels safe. But online? I probably hit the X on the tab and move on. My pushback is big, but does it even make a difference?
If you want to see change happen online as a Christian and be a witness, watch the video below with the lens as a church techie then figure out how you can be proactive.
What change do you think people should take?
