I believe pastors and key ministry leaders should create video blogs.
If you haven’t tried it yet, it can help you and your ministry.
Here’s why:
[tentblogger-youtube bZ16Gax-psM]
- It positions you as an expert. Most people don’t believe they are experts until people tell them they are. Let me repeat that again, most people don’t believe they are experts until someone confirms them.
- You can reach people and touch them without physically being there.
- It doesn’t cost thousands of dollars to do quality video.
- It doesn’t takes too long to learn, even if you are you rookie. (Trust me, a young person at your church knows how to edit video.)
- You can start a series of conversations, devotionals or live streams.
Have you ever recorded a video blog or update?
If not, what’s holding you back?

As of late this has been on my spirit. I was thinking of shooting a video somewhat similar to the kind of MSNBC commercials I’ve been seeing lately….quick, to the point, a mini-devotional or talking point on a scripture biblical point.
Definitely a confirmation for me reading this article this morning!

Kendall, I really enjoy those MSNBC commercials and I am glad you found my posts. I am creating more content for pastors in regard to shooting video. I shot this video by myself and used an iPad as a teleprompter. If you follow me on twitter or my blog you can get more training videos and the equipment I use.

Great post!
I’ve considered doing this (for years!) and strongly sense this in my spirit. Thanks for the encouraging post. For some time I’ve been somewhere fall between the Moses Syndrome of “who am I to do this” on one end, and at the other end don’t want to come off as some Pastors who produce cheesy content.
Glad I found your site…

Chris,
That’s great. I feel having a meaningful video blog that helps your members and others is key. Every pastor has a speciality and the hardest part is starting.
Just keep going and you never know who you will bless.!
