I have been thinking a lot about collaboration lately. As I was browsing the web, I came across this list of myths about collaboration.
The five myths are:
- The right tools will make us collaborative
- Collaboration is inherently a good thing
- Collaborating takes extra time
- People naturally will/will not collaborate
- People instinctively know how to collaborate
Collaboration is something we do every day. It’s something most people enjoy. We work with people all over the world in some aspect or the other. If it weren’t for collaboration, some of the worlds most successful companies wouldn’t be in existence.
Having worked with a team on a project, what would you add to this list? What is the last project that you have collaborated on?

I would add “Collaboration always leads to better results.” As a myth. Sometimes someone needs to make a freaking decision and move on.

Those companies whose employees collaborate well are working projects in groups of 4-5 people. NOT in the groups of 20-30 which many companies have tried to do.
