So it is officially after Christmas and you probably received at least a couple of gift cards. If the people in your life know that you are a techie, then you probably received something for Amazon, Google Play, or iTunes. Beyond the necessaries like a tablet cover, music, eBooks, and movies, we have some mobile apps that you might want to consider buying for yourself or your ministry that are all under $5.
Note: We make no guarantees that these prices will stay the same or be the same across all platforms. You’ve been warned.
- Over on iOS If you love to take pictures and share them with friends and family or post them on your blog, this is a great app to add text and spice them up a little. Fun little application.
- TurboScan on iOS for $2.99 If you are someone that is or wants to be a digital archiver and yet find scanning devices expensive or tedious, this app will turn your phone into the perfect digital archiving device. Instantly you can put bills, meeting notes, and any thing else into paged PDF notes.
- Nova Launcher Prime on Android for $4.00 This is a great stock alternative Android launcher that allows you to improve performance and customize like crazy.
- Pocket Casts on Android for $3.99 A great podcast app for the Android platform to get all of the podcasts you are listening to.
- Merriam-Webster Dictionary & Thesaurus for $3.99 People need to SERIOUSLY work on their grammar and punctuation. This will help the process a little.
- Paper Camera This is a great little app for making any photo you have into a cartoon or painting effect.
- Sketchbook Pro For those that are hobbyists or professionals in art, this little app will take your creativity to the next level. Honestly no other app out there like it on Android and maybe even iOS.
- iMovie for iOS for $3.99 This is a great church volunteer or staff app for those that have inspiration and creativity to make on-sight videos of retreats, youth groups, children’s ministry, etc and are not needing high-value production. Seriously, every iPhone using church should get this app now.
- SwiftKey on Android for $1.99 Unfortunately, Android apps do not have
- djay for iPhone on iOS for $.99 If you run sound at all for churches, you should have this app to make better audio transitions on-the-go. It is not a soundboard and live music substitution, but for those days when you do not have high-performance options. A youth pastor must get.
