Filmmaker Stephen van Vuuren has taken NASA photos and compiled them into an amazing 4K view of the planet Saturn. The video below is a teaser for his IMAX documentary, “In Saturn’s Rings,” which is set to come out in 2014.
As mentioned in the video, everything you see is a real photo taken of the planet. Van Vuuren used a fly-through technology he designed himself to animate the snapshots, but no CGI or visual effects were added.
Set YouTube to “original” for the full 4K quality:

The word awesome is overused by many people (myself included), but in this case, I think it’s fully warranted. I only wish I had a 4K TV to enjoy the full experience! You can see more on the filmmaker’s website.
Watching the video reminded me of a verse in the Bible.
The heavens declare the glory of God, and the sky above proclaims his handiwork. – Psalm 19:1
Not even 4K comes close to fully declaring the glory of God. But I’d like to think it gets us just a bit closer. đŸ™‚
