When it comes to building enterprise-level applications, Microsoft’s .NET framework is a terrific option. An amazing code library, excellent tools, solid documentation, and a choice of languages make it a great option.
There are a number of great sites providing solid content for .NET developers, too. If you’re looking for a few new bookmarks, there are four sites that .NET developers – both beginners and advanced – should have at the ready…
- 4 Guys From Rolla is site that’s been around for a long time and contains a ton of great content for .NET developers – especially those focusing on ASP.NET.
- MSDN Magazine is Microsoft’s premiere site for .NET developer documentation. There are articles, tutorials, example code, and documentation for the entire framework on this site.
- Scott Gutherie’s Blog – also known as ScottGu – covers anything and everything between the .NET base library all the way over to Silverlight. Because Scott’s also the Senior VP for the Developer Division at Microsoft, he often blogs about current projects they are working on, too.
- Code Project is a community driven site containing an enormous amount of code examples meant to help developers solve an array problems. Because the site has been around for years, the library is huge. And because content is submitted of pay but for approval by peers, the quality is typically very high.
There are many more sites targeting .NET developers. If you’ve got a favorite, share it!

More of a “must watch” instead of a “must read” site, but Channel9, which is also a part of MSDN, is a great resource for videos on all things .NET. Feels like TechTV for developers.
