I am not a fan of working out. Especially not at the gym. Even so, at this season in my life, going to a place where everyone is devoted to exercise is my best bet to be consistent and take care of my health. Still… it sucks.
When I get on that bike or that elliptical, minutes go by oh so slowly. If I want to complete my cardio without going insane, I have to take some of my friends with me: cue to my favorite podcasts.
Here I share with you 4 of my favorite shows to hear while my body is in pain. They teach me and make me happy, and I hope they make you happy too:
This should go with out saying, but I am going to say it anyway: you should be listening to The ChurchMag Podcast! If you are here, chances are you love God, the Church and everything geeky, tech-y and fun. Listen to our own Eric Dye, Jeremy Smith, Phil Schneider and various guests talk about everything from the Bible to Batman v. Superman; because, why not!?
One of my passions is teaching, and Nancy Guthrie is an amazing teacher, writer and podcast host. I just love hearing her and her amazing guests talk about how they try to become better Bible teachers. Nancy always brings in someone new, so her show is great for meeting new authors or speakers and gain some of their practical wisdom.
3. Happy Rant
Happy Rant has a very similar feel to The ChurchMag Podcast: a few friends hanging out and talking about random stuff. It features Barnabas Piper, Ted Kluck, and Ronnie Martin. If you are a Christian who loves holy ranting and sarcasm, this podcast is for you.
I have the honor to be a worship leader in my church. I am always looking for ways to grow and serve better to the congregation. Jon Nicol has always something interesting to discuss about worship ministry, and his show challenges me to improve every time I tune in.
These are my four favorite podcasts to listen while working out.
What about you?
I’d appreciate any recommendation that makes my sweating-like-a-pig time more enjoyable and mind-enriching.
