We are looking at specific tools you should invest in to maximize your usage of Facebook. Of course one of the biggest things that we want to do is get as many people to our page and interacting with it. Short of buying advertisements, the best way that I have found to increase the number of likes, impressions, reach, and comments/shares is by giving away free stuff. We have previously written on how to do this correct, as Facebook has guidelines and rules to giveaway stuff without permanently getting kicked off the social network.
First off, you need to create something worth downloading. If you offer a couple of okay photos or sermons, you are not only giving it half an effort, but you are setting a standard that is low and will last for a while. Make it worth their time to download. You might be saying, “But it is free! They should be grateful.” Sit in their shoes, how would you react of someone gave you something subpar. Would you ever even go back to their Facebook page, let alone download stuff or buy something from them? Probably not.
Use Share and Get It. The program is designed that the person cannot actually download it unless they put in their Facebook status they they are using this. Then they will be redirected to a one-time only link to download the file. What this does is reaches all of their friends, provides a link to them, and adds as an interaction on your page. It is the perfect marketing tool if used right.
Ethics… The question then becomes, are you okay to force someone to share it before they download it. If you are charging them for something, now or in the near future, it would be best not to use it. But if your only goal is to get likes and market your brand or Facebook page, use it!
Maximize Usage. You have to make sure you prep the giveaway with several tweets, Google+ statuses, and Facebook posts. When you do give it away, limit the time table so that you have maximum impact in a short amount of time. You can always do a second and third giveaway.
So what will you be giving away and where can we find your Facebook page?
