One of the biggest communicating tools a church has is the Sunday bulletin. People have time during the service to read during transitions and take it home with them afterwards. The problem is that many times the printed bulletins end up in the trash and so many churches see that as environmentally unfriendly as well as a huge wasted cost because people do not have them at home.
The solution? A digital bulletin is the perfect alternative that will save you money, but ensure people have access to your bulletins, and even add a hyperlink and instant, direct communication. Here are the three best digital bulletin solutions.
- Bulletinpl.us
This is the one solution I would recommend. Not only does this app have built-in themes, social media integration, and mobile user management, but it comes with event registration, church calendar options, free stock photos, and unlimited email subscribers. On top of that, the $59/month cost is a cheaper solution than print if your church prints more than 50 low-quality bulletins a week. By far the best option on here. - Responsive Website Design
If for some reason, you cannot do the monthly cost, your website should be responsive and work well as a bulletin solution. The problem is that if you do not have this, it is a big upfront cost and you do not have a central app for them to go to, instead having to go through a mobile browser. That being said, you at least have control over the design, instant event registration, and a direct mode of contact with church leadership. - YouVersion
We have already reviewed the YouVersion app and talked about how using YouVersion Live is a good free digital bulletin, but it is very limited, the design is SO blah, and you do not have control over anything except content. If you are experimenting, this is a good start, but it should not be the final solution.
What are your bulletin needs and what would you want in a digital bulletin?
