Most church techs in ministry understand the importance of communicating effectively to their superiors.
But from most of my buddies that I have spoken to in there ministries, always complain about the communication problems faced by church techs, leaders and pastors.
I have seen church techs and technical directors get so annoyed at pastors and guest speakers that hand over PowerPoint presentations at the very last minute!
Don’t get me wrong, I’m all for serving and going all out even at the very last minute—aka: CRUNCH TIME—however, I firmly believe that church techs and their pastors or leaders need to communicate with each other:
- First off, simplify and explain things that the pastor/leader doesn’t understand, talk to them about procedures and why things are done the way they are.
- Schedule a monthly meeting with pastors and/or leadership to discuss and plan the month ahead.
- Communicate updates or changes via email, text or any preferred method.
How have you learned to effectively communicate with your pastor and church leadership?
