If you’re into church Tech you may also be into coffee. It’s one of those characteristics that actually plays into pop culture with being nerdy. There are certainly different tiers of people that like coffee, some like to go to the point of growing and roasting their own beans or trying to front ways to brew coffee. But the general idea is that you appreciate the drink.

I don’t know about you but I think that Jesus laughed when He was down here. I mean, we live in such a funny world — don’t we?
We humans, have taken ourselves seriously since forever. We have the choice to laugh or cry and how many times do we choose to cry?
Christians, in particular, have gotten the reputation for being straight-laced, uptight, and serious. If anyone needs to laugh, it’s those of us who claim to have heard The Good News, right?

During the summer, I attended a photography meet up in London. During the different days of there were a lot of talks looking at different topics and photographers showing their work. One of the sessions was on promoting your work with a strong focus on Instagram. One of the speakers, Olly Lang, has over 100,000 Instagram followers and so everyone was looking for his advice and he said a fair few things that initially shocked me, but made total sense and are useful for your church too.

In a general sense, there is great intentionality in the design of social media platforms. I’d like to assume there are clear reasons for that in the minds of the architects. Now bloated with features, Facebook started to enrich connections between people. Instagram started as a simple app for sharing a photo. Though the jury is still out on what microblogging is, Twitter is a platform for that. Creators have one way of thinking and then users get into the picture. It doesn’t seem it’s long until users start using social media platforms the wrong way.
