5 Apps That Had A Big Impact on Me in 2016
In the last couple of years I’ve tried to look for apps that made a big and positive impact in my life. Not just fun games or another minimalist markdown editor, but apps that helped me do something different and live in a better way.
Last year, the big theme in my app choices was health as I had started a good health routine using some of these apps. This year, the biggest impact has come in the form of “Deep Work” and idea from Cal Newport that I’ve sort to apply to my life and help me truly focus on a single and important task at once.
Unlike the last two years, I wouldn’t really say that these apps “changed my life,” but they really made a noticeable difference and helped me a lot. So with that in mind check out these great apps:

IFTTT Update: Recipes Become Applets
IFTTT has advertised itself as being the “glue that holds the internet together” for a while now. When it first came along, it was the first widespread service that you could connect internet services to do some really cool things. Some were simple like re-sharing a Facebook post on Twitter (or the other way round), which admittedly you can do from the basic Facebook and Twitter settings or a tool like Buffer. But then there are features like saving all your Instagram images to Dropbox or pinging your phone with an alert when a certain account tweets (I use this with deal account on Twitter). However, now IFTTT has evolved further to change from recipes to applets.
Top 10 Blogs to Follow in 2017
Blogs. I cannot scroll through social media without seeing a blog post from someone. It would seem that blogging is one of THE things to do lately. So with all the blogs out there I thought I would share some of the best ones that I follow, as well as some of the best for church communicators.
As much as I love writing blogs, I like reading them more. I like reading them because I love to learn new things, new approaches, and new ways to communicate the message of Jesus to the culture around me.

I have found that when we want to tell a great story, it’s hard to craft the exact words to put to use, but a single photograph, or that 15 second video can make all the difference.
