No matter how hard I try to eliminate my need for a printer, there always seems to be something that comes up that requires me to print something out. Thankfully I have a few places I can go when the occasion arises. The price of ink carts is an expense I don’t mind avoiding.
For churches and ministries, however, going without a printer is nearly impossible. Here are a few tips and tricks to help you get the most out of your printer and reduce the amount of ink wasted.

If you were on the Interwebs at all in March, you probably came across this YouTube video that went viral, sadly for all the wrong reasons. The description of the YouTube clip shares this:
Candace Dold tosses to Traffic Jam Jimmy during a traffic report Thursday morning…only to find him in the McDonald’s drive-through.

Verses is an iOS app with a noble mission:
To help us memorize Scripture.
I’ll be honest that I’m not nearly as focussed on memorizing Scripture as I was when I was a kid. Part of that is a natural pendulum swing from being pushed to memorize, but not necessarily understand Scripture, but that’s a post for another time.
When you open the app up, you’re greeted by a list of verses (“My Verses”), a button that takes you to your “Collections,” and then every single book of the Bible!
Clearly, there’s plenty of verses to choose from.

Here are a few to get your toolbox started.

If you have been on the church tech scene on the Internet for the last month, you would have seen a lot of different articles popping up about how your church could get a sweet $10,000 per month of free Google Adwords for your church website. Churchsites.co promoted it, NilsSmith shared it, and even Josh Burns of Social Media Academy did a whole webinar on it.
This is nothing new. I had actually written about this two years ago on my old personal site how I had helped my missionary organization effectively use this for over a year and half and SIGNIFICANTLY boosted our online presence.
But I actually made a claim to Josh on Twitter that I think many churches should NOT sign up for this.
Here were my exact words:
