NueBible: A Design Centric iOS Bible App

March 31, 2015
by Chris Wilson

We’ve covered a lot of Bible apps here at ChurchMag and too often we focus heavily on the functionality built into these tools. Features like Bible reading plans, the ability to add notes, export notes, commentaries, sharing verses and so on. These are all great and we’ve seen some huge steps forward there, but sometimes I wonder if this has lead to a neglect of the design of these tools.

Well NeuBible is a new (pun not intended) Bible app from a small indie development team that takes a radically different approach to many others and focuses on design first.

[FREE DOWNLOAD] Easter Social Media Kit

March 31, 2015
by Eric Dye

Some would argue that if your church hasn’t done anything to promote this Sunday’s Easter service via social media, you’ve already failed. While I would agree that you won’t receive nearly the payoff that those who started a month ago will receive, better late than never…am I right?

To lend a hand to those of you who find yourself between a rock and a hard place, we are giving away the Easter Social Media Kit from Big Click Syndicate on ChurchMag Press.

Here’s what you’ll get:

Amazing Video without the Amazing Price Tag

March 31, 2015
by Paul Alan Clifford

It’s not hard to spend millions of dollars on equipment. In fact, there’s a whole convention dedicated to video equipment and its usage. It’s called NAB and it happens every spring in Las Vegas. I’ve never been, but I think it’s just a matter of time. I’m afraid that I better only go once I have a permanent studio set up and tons of paying clients. I bet I could spend $100,000 in the first 5 minutes.

What most people don’t know is that you don’t need millions, hundreds of thousands, or even tens of thousands of dollars to create compelling video. The early videos I made for my church were all created with an iMac and a consumer mini-dv camcorder. It’s not even necessary to have both a camera and a computer for all types of video. I’d rather have all the tools necessary for the different video types than hope I had the equipment.

by Saijo George

Most of us would want a framework with a solid foundation, that has prebuilt elements that most websites would require and offer a good level of customization, and this is exactly what Bootstrap does. Bootstrap is one of the most popular front-end development framework that has won over many a designers and developers. There are a lot of Bootstrap themes and Bootstrap skins with custom CSS that gives you the ability to quickly put together a custom responsive website.

With a growing community around the open-source Bootstrap project, there are a lot of amazing bootstrap resources available to users. Today we are going to look at some professionally designed Bootstrap themes that you can use to create a church or event related website.

Social Media Posting Frequency [Infographic]

March 30, 2015
by Phil Schneider

The rules of social media are still being written, but that’s not to minimize any of the great content that’s being pumped out on the blogosphere. The trick, of course, is to take in the various streams of information and data, sift out rank conjecture, identify common trends, and then decide what makes the most sense for your church/company’s social media strategy.

Or find a sweet infographic.

Minecraft Theology: 01 Taking Inventory

March 30, 2015
by Jeremy Smith

Check out more Minecraft Theology episodes on our table of contents page.

We started up a new Minecraft server and decide to give it a church tech twist by mixing Christianity and gaming. The concept is certainly not new, but we hope to take it to a new level and start a whole community on here. In this series, we are going to start off with individual “let’s plays” and begin to integrate a more community aspect.

The question is:

Would any of you like to join us?
