Adam Braun was on the fast-track to success. He had comfortable life and while at Brown University he decided to spend a semester at sea. That semester while he was only 21 changed his life forever. In Adam’s book, “The Promise of a Pencil: How an Ordinary Person can create Extraordinary Change,” he chronicles this trip and more. On one of the last stops of the trip he went to India, and met a young boy begging on the street. When Adam asked the boy what he most wanted in the world, he simply replied,
“A pencil.”
That interaction became Adam’s inspiration. He started a non profit called Pencils of Promise, with just an investment of $25 and five years of hard work, this organization has been responsible for funding and building over 200 schools around the world!

Have you ever seen a RT, +1 or Like about something that made you think, “Huh?”

CONGRATULATIONS to our very own Seth Rowoldt who was just blessed with Number Four! He claims it is their last, but I have just the tool to encourage him to break that promise.
This cool tool is another iPhone accessory that allows expectant parents the ability to listen to their precious munchkins in the womb. It’s called the Bellabeat Connected System, and it attaches to the phone. It is held against the tummy, amplifies the heartbeat and the data is interpreted by the associated app in graphical form for the parents to enjoy. The app also helps to track movement and provides diary functionality, and readings can be shared.

Normally I post infographics because I love the facts that they bring to ChurchMag readers. This will not be one of those posts. Instead, I would like to refer to this infographic as the LIES that people tell for you to engage with social media.
“It only takes 5 minutes.”
“You can connect with millions for your brand.”
“Just get them to retweet you and you will see huge success.”
“What you need to do is go viral.”
No, what you need to do is put in the elbow grease to create great content, point them to a wonderful website, and establish long and lasting relationships with people to succeed. Double your Facebook Likes in just five minutes per day? Yeah, right!

I am an accomplished artist…in the field of stick figure art.
I can draw a man, a tall man, and a distant cottage with smoke rising elegantly rising from the chimney.
However, despite my clearly amazing skills, I’m in awe of this invert art by Brian Lai:
