If you work in church tech, you work in communication; without good communication, things just don’t get done right. The connection between a director and their camera crew hinges on clear and consistent vernacular so everyone knows what is being asked. Below, I’ve taken some of the most common terms and provided definitions and how you would use the shots so your team can benefit from being on the same wavelength.

I Want These Shoes [Photos]
These. Shoes. Are. Amazing!
Would I like to get these for my younger kids? Sure.
But am I the only one wishing these were available in adult sizes?
If a Picture Says 1000 Words, Then Video Is… Priceless [Infographic]
The old adage with print is that a photo is worth a thousand words. You can look at a captivating image and make an entire story just from that one photo. A great marketer could turn that image into a moving advertisement that would get people to join the cause or buy a product. With Internet speeds moving an average of 7 Mbps, YouTube seeing over 2 billion views a month, and being able to tell a carefully crafted message, why shouldn’t your church or blog delve into the world of videography and get your message in front of many people?

My seven year old has been saving his money for the past year. What is he saving his money for?
A 3D printer.
He has talked about printing LEGO sets, toys, action figures, and his most ambitious project — robots. He doesn’t want to build one robot, either, but an entire fleet of robots that will do all of our work so we can play Minecraft all day.
I’m all for it.

Porn: Discovering the Real Problem
This is the second article in the series The Fight Against Porn series.
It’s quite possible this is your first time committing to purity. I’ll be the first to say, great job. It’s an overwhelming task to tackle the issue head on, but I want you to know that it’s worth it for you, your family, your spiritual life, and your missional effectiveness. But is porn really just about sex, or is it merely a physical manifestation of deeper issues? I think it’s something to be considered. [Read more…] about Porn: Discovering the Real Problem
