Skype, 3G, and the iPhone… Soon. I Think.
Skype, one of the most popular downloads in the Apple App Store, is apparently going to be coming to 3G.
This fact, that it wasn’t available, miffed me personally for quite some time; I honestly couldn’t believe that the lack of VoIP support over AT&T’s advertised “robust” 3G network has caused more than a few people to go:
Huh?
But, apparently it’s coming, soon. I think.

Standardizing Your Web Projects with Typeface.js
One of the challenges that web developers face is providing a consistent experience across not only a variety of web browsers but operating systems, as well. This experience not only translates to the layout of a website, but the typography, too.
There are some fonts that are shared between operating systems (such as Arial, Times New Roman, and others), but there are other web-friendly fonts that aren’t shared among platforms. On top of that, alternative operating systems such as Linux, do not share common fonts but are becoming relatively common means of accessing sites and services on the web.
So how are we supposed to provide a common experience that translates well across all platforms? Enter typeface.js. It’s a free JavaScript utility that utilizes built-in browser technology that allows you to provide the same typography across all platforms.
Ready for a little lesson in code? More after the jump.

How Hot Pockets Teach Us About Media and the Church
I saw this commercial from Hot Pocket the other day, and it cracked me up! Take a look:
[Editor: God, I’m so hungry now…]
There’s at least a couple reasons it made me laugh so hard: It brings back memories of Jim Gaffagin’s timeless Hot Pockets jokes, and it’s also a humorous example of the evolution of the Church from the older generation to my generation.
While the younger generation is free-spirited and flippantly eating on the go, the older generation is scared of what society will come to if people are allowed to eat at any other place than the table. Seemingly, they use intimidation tactics to try and stop the younger generation from doing a new thing.
Is this a metaphor for Media and the Church? I think so…

Decision Time: Mac or PC for Your Ministry? – Part 2
In Part 1 of this Series we covered the pros and cons of having a PC-only IT infrastructure for your church. You’re ready to make a decision now, right? Of course not!
Today in part 2 of this 3 part series we’ll look at the primary reasons why you should choose a Mac-only IT environment over a PC-only environment for your church’s IT infrastructure. And, conversely, there are reasons why you would not want to go with exclusively Apple products in your church.
Even with a much smaller market-share than Microsoft, Apple has revolutionized computing. Though they are a small voice in the chorus of computer users in the world they are loud and very vocal (with good reason).
Let’s dive in and see what Apple has to offer!
