Instagram for churches? Yes please!
Something that drives me to a ministry more than anything is the ministry’s ability to show faces of congregation members and their families enjoying a service or how a ministry is impacting and serving in the community.
Can you imagine the impact a great photo could have? It would tell the relief a family has because your church gave selflessly at a Fall Feed the Homeless drive. It could show that moment of joy after a baptism. And it should reveal what worship looks like on Sunday morning as congregation members praise God in service. All of these are inviting.
Here are our three favorite ideas that churches could use to improve their Instagram strategy:
- Decide on a strong strategy. Whatever you want, your future decisions should be based on this strategy.
- Theme your photos to have a familiar look. Not just with each photo you upload, but your account’s header image and even your overall online and website presence. That includes your church logo on images, filters, and fonts for your quoted text.
- Host a photo contest. That includes a youth group photo booth or scavenger hunt, Christmas or Fall Festival fun, and camp or VBS volunteering.
Best Instagram image you have seen a church post recently?
We’d love to see it too!
