21GB’s of free backup space?
Yes, please!
All you have to do is pimp-out your Twitter with one tweet, and you’ve got yourself 21-brand-new-gigabytes of online storage.
Check it out:
ZenOK
ZenOK installs on your computer much like DropBox. The difference is, ZenOK is about backing up your files automatically, in real time. A little bit of a different concept. It’s at least worth a try, after all, it’s free.
The nice thing about ZenOK, is you choose exactly what folders you want to keep backed-up. When you make a change or add a file, it’s added to your backup file.
ZenOK also keeps an earlier version of your files, too, so you can always go back to a previous saved file version.
Very cool.
Word of experience.
After your tweet goes out, you signup for an account. After installing ZenOK on your computer, you will be automatically prompted to create an account. Don’t! You already did, so sign in with your new login info sent to you via email. That way, you’re sure to get your 21GB of storage and not the normal 2GB.
If you really like ZenOK and want to backup more, ZenOK offers an upgrade of 150GB of storage:
Create and account, download the app, and give ZenOK a try with 21GB of free storage!

Does it work on a mac?
Your screenshot shows you’re using it on Windows… But nowhere on the site (that I can see, anyway!) does it show what platforms it works on?
Eric Dye says
I believe that’s a negative.
Stacey says
I’m with Darius, will it work on a Mac? Also, can you sync multiple boxes together like you can with Dropbox and SpiderOak?
And for the big, big question: what about data security? Dropbox caught me with my pants down, which is why I switched to SpiderOak. The client-side encryption is very effective, but their network is nowhere near as advanced as Dropbox’s.
Stacey says
Okay, I decided to do my own research.
Mac? Nope, bummer.
Encryption? Yup. Paid services use Blowfish, but I couldn’t find anything about encryption on the free accounts. The descriptions were also very ambiguous about whether the encryption occurs client-side or server-side.
Did I sign up? Yup, sure did. Just in case they release a Mac app and clear up the encryption question, I’ve got a 21 gig trial locked down 😀

😀

I’ll have to look at SpiderOak. Thanks, man!
Stacey says
It’s worth a look, especially if you qualify for their reduced prices when you use a .edu account. Aside from being the paranoid-man’s Dropbox, it is also rock solid in stability. I wish the UI was more intuitive, since my first week or two was spent figuring out how to do what should have been obvious.

Crashplan and backblaze are way cheaper!
Eric Dye says
… and check out these, too.

I’m in a country not covered by this 21GB plan… This is the message I got: “We are sorry, at this time this offer is only available within the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Australia, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Belgium, Netherlands and Luxembourg”… In this case you only get a 2GB free account.
Have you ever heard about Mozy.com? Same type of service… worth trying too…
Eric J says
I left mozy after they capped the amount you could upload they would have had me paying $50 a month!
Eric Dye says
Where are you at? They let me install it? Weird.
Kleber Costa says
I’m in Brazil so out of the country list I selected mine and then I got the warning message saying the promotion was not applicable to my country yet. It doesn’t make sense to me but perhaps there’s something on the network or legal side that are prevent them from going broader for now…
