Recently, the great Chip Dizárd (master of video tutorials) explained how to Live Stream Using YouTube & Wirecast Software.
Now thanks to YouTube making some changes, live streaming will be an option to many many more churches and ministries!
In their August 2013 update, YouTube has now set the numbers of subscribers needed to be able to Live Stream to 100!
100 subscribers is a much more attainable number for small/medium churches and ministries. This could now unlock the possibility of putting services and events online LIVE!
But before you go streaming, make sure you’ve got the correct license(s), such as the CCLI Streaming Licence, and maybe even a live event specific website.
How many subscribers does your YouTube channel have?

Eventually, this might give some of the paid services trouble, but right now there are a lot of choices that Google has made that makes sense for one-time events, but not weekly worship services.
I’ll write more about it later, but while it could be made to work, it’s not going to be as easy as it could be.

James,
Thanks for sharing this – it’s good news. I believe there is some integration between Google Hangouts and YouTube, but live streaming required a ridiculous number of Google+ followers (I’m thinking 2,000 or 5,000). I’m glad to see that YouTube has an option that is more attainable by churches. I wouldn’t be surprised if YouTube eventually reduces the number further so that live streaming becomes more accessible to the masses.
Blessings,
Kevin

Hi Kevin, yes it could be a really good option for some churches! Youtube’s limit was orignally 10,000 then they dropped it to 1000 and now 100!
