One October 31st, the world population broke 7 billion.
That would be:
7,000,000,000
Although the world’s population is bigger than it’s ever been (and getting bigger every second), technology makes the world smaller.
- Jet planes
- Satellites
- The Internet
It all brings us closer.
Even though I live in Italy, I can attend men’s Friday morning coffee with my Church friends via Skype and call my friend on his cell phone at a moments notice with Google Voice.
Even though I live in a small town in Italy, I have Google Street View of my own street!
Crazy!
Even though the world is feeling smaller, the population is increasing.
If you want to get an idea of what 7 billion people looks like, check this out.
7 billion is a lot of people. 7 billion people presents a lot of problems.
A world of 7 billion poses many challenges: in fighting poverty and disease, in securing education and sustainable livelihoods and in mitigating climate change. But this milestone for humanity can also be seen as an opportunity to renew our commitment to work individually and together for a better world. – United Nations Day
Thankfully, we have The Answer.
How can we use the smaller world presented by technology to share the Gospel to an ever increasing number of people in the world?

Kevin Farmer says
Ultimately it is still about relationships. If it is a real-world or a virtual-world there has to be a relationship that transmits the Gospel in a meaningful way. There has to be a communication that leads to the knowledge of God, assent to His world-view, and trust that produces actions.

It’s nice to see Eric how you have such an evangelistic mind. I think that all healthy Christians would want to share the Good News with others especially in this digital age that we live in.
.
I’m actually working on a new blog that will help Christians to spread the gospel online using social media and other digital means. It’s still a work in progress, but I hope to release it on January 2, 2012.

Cool! Keep us in the loop!
